Since our last blog post we've been knee-deep in our kitchen remodel. Luckily, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we should be wrapped up in a couple weeks. You can see some progress on that front in the first few photos. Next week we should have the main counter set and the sink dropped in, and then it will be a matter of finishing up the small stuff (paint, putty, etc.). My Dad headed back to Wisconsin on Tuesday with almost as many fingers as he arrived with. I'm serious on this one. We hit pause on the remodel for a few days after he tangled with a table saw. The good news is the end of his left thumb is reattached. If you happen to run into him, though, I wouldn't ask to take a look at it. It's not pretty.
I threw in some Avena shots since appliances aren't as cute as 2-year-olds. She's in a bee phase, and wears her bee tights to pick flowers in the yard. Yesterday she wore the wacky ensemble seen above to my kickboxing class. She likes to pee in her potty but she doesn't like to poop. Yesterday, I asked her why and she said, "Avena no go poop in the potty because the potty is beautiful." How can you argue with that logic? She is slightly obsessed with her cousin Ariana, who turns 9 on Monday. Avena made Ariana a birthday card the other day and made herself an exact replica of the card so they would have matching cards. She's totally a tiny stalker. Today in the store she was checking out our fellow shoppers and announcing, "That's not Ariana. That's not Ariana." Funny.
