Well, the Phillies didn't get out of the division series, but we did get this highly entertaining video of Avena singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," which she and Ben have been singing in the mornings on the way to school this week. For those of you not familiar with Avena's eccentricities, now that she's 3, she won't use the number 3 when she counts. She skips right to 4. She did this the whole time she was 2 as well (skipped the number 2 for a whole year!). So, it's one, two, four strikes (or trucks) and you're out.
What else since our last post? We celebrated Avena's 3rd birthday at Shadow Cliffs, a little lake nearby. The kids liked the water and it was a fun day. My mom made this fabulous cake that looks like one of Avena's favorite stuffed cats. It was really warm, and by the time we snapped this photo he was drooping a little, but he was still looking pretty darn good.
I'm modeling with the scarecrow we made in the museum's garden. He's wearing a Ralph Lauren dress shirt - kind of fancy for a scarecrow. He's now hanging out on our porch waiting for some pumpkins or hay to complete the harvest display (imagine Ben shaking his head wondering why we need a harvest display).
