Hi everyone. Here are a few photos from the last month or so. Avena will turn 1 in a few days. How did that happen? She had "school photos" at day care last week, and we are cracking up in advance of receiving her class photo. How do you wrangle 16 kids under the age of 2? My best friend, Rise, was visiting for two weeks. She headed back to Chicago on Friday, but it was fantastic to have her here that long. She got lots of play time with Avena. Hi Rise! Avena is quite the fancy lady these days - she's saying "hi" and "ba-bye" and has been taking a few steps the last couple days. My dad and Teresa were here for a quick visit this weekend and it was lovely to get caught up. Avena is "helping" with the laundry in the last photo. Her version of helping includes flipping the basket and climbing in it. She also happens to be wearing her Golden Girls capri pants in this shot. I'm pretty sure that only little girls and retirees in southern Florida can get away with wearing pants covered in pineapples.
