Friday Update

Greetings from inside the impenetrable maze of adoption bureaucracy. So, the lab says they sent the DNA results via email Wednesday night. We went to the US Embassy today hoping that they would process Avena's Visa. The consular officer assured me that they had someone checking the email for the results and that they hadn't arrived. She then checked for them while we were there and said they hadn't arrived. We have tried to send many emails to the Embassy, and most of them don't go through. Why? I have no idea. So, Jen will get the lab to re-send the results via email, and the hard copy will arrive via Fed Ex early next week. On a postive note, the consular officer was very friendly (we seem to have turned a corner in that department), and assured me that as soon as they receive the results they will process Avena's Visa.
